Terms and Conditions

The rules for using Smoke Craft Lab: what the site is and is not, how its content may be reused, who is responsible for the fire and the food, and which law applies.

Last updated: October 3, 2026.

These terms apply to anyone who reads or uses smokecraftlab.com (the site). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Who runs this site

Smoke Craft Lab is published by NET STUDIO LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States. Its address and the name of the person responsible for the content are on the Legal Notice page. In these terms, “we” means NET STUDIO LLC and “you” means the person using the site.

What the site is, and what it is not

The site publishes free guides on smoking food: cooking times and temperatures, wood and charcoal, fire management and thermometers. It is a source of general information.

It does not sell equipment, food or fuel. It does not offer on-site work, installation, repairs, consulting or quotes. Nothing on the site is professional advice on food safety, fire safety, health or equipment installation, and reading it does not create any professional or contractual relationship with us.

Food and fire safety are your responsibility

Smoking food means live fire, hot steel, smoke and meat held for hours at low temperature. You decide how to set up, light, run and put out your fire, and you decide when food is safe to eat.

Always check doneness with a calibrated thermometer and follow the internal temperatures and holding times set by your national food safety authority. In the United States that is the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. If a number on this site disagrees with that guidance, the official guidance wins. Follow the manufacturer instructions for your smoker, grill and thermometer, keep fires away from buildings and anything that can burn, and never run a smoker in an enclosed space.

How the numbers are sourced

Most cooking times on the site are compiled from published recipes and manufacturer guides, compared side by side, and linked to the pages they come from where those pages could be opened and checked. Figures that were measured on our own equipment are labeled as measured. The method is explained on the How We Test page.

Times are ranges, not promises. Weight, thickness, fuel, weather, altitude and the smoker itself all move the result. Use the times to plan the cook and the thermometer to finish it.

Using the content

Text, images, tables and charts on the site belong to NET STUDIO LLC unless stated otherwise. You may read them, print them and keep copies for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Short quotations with a link back to the source page are welcome and need no permission. Anything beyond that needs written permission first, in particular:

Do not try to disrupt the site, get around its security, or send automated traffic heavy enough to slow it down for other readers. Normal search engine crawling is welcome.

Brand and product names mentioned on the site belong to their owners. They are used to describe and compare, and their use does not mean those companies endorse the site or are connected to it.

Images

Images on the site illustrate the articles. They are not evidence for any number, and no figure on the site depends on an image. The How We Test page explains how they are produced.

Messages you send us

When you write through the contact form, you confirm that what you send is lawful and that you have the right to send it. Please do not include sensitive personal information, such as health or financial details, or information about other people without their consent.

If you point out an error, we may correct the article using the substance of your message. We will not publish your name or your words without asking you first. If comments are open on a page, they are moderated, and we may refuse or remove any comment that is off topic, promotional, abusive or unlawful.

Links to other websites

Articles link to recipes, manufacturers, retailers and public agencies so that you can check the sources yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability, their prices or how they handle your data. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you leave this site.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some pages may contain affiliate links or advertising. If you buy something through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. How this works, and what a commission does not buy, is explained on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Any purchase you make is a contract between you and the seller. We do not take orders or payments, and we do not handle delivery, returns, refunds or warranties. Prices and specifications can change after an article is written, so check them with the seller before you buy.

No warranty

We work to keep the site accurate and correct errors when we find them, but the site is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that the content is complete, current or free of errors, or that the site will always be online and free of technical faults.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, NET STUDIO LLC is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its content. That includes injury, illness, fire, damage to property or equipment, spoiled food, and any indirect or consequential loss. The site is free, and you remain in charge of your own fire, equipment and food.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, and nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under that law.

Privacy and cookies

How the site handles personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy, with versions for readers in the United States and the United Kingdom. The cookies the site sets, and how to change your choices, are listed in the Cookie Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the site changes, for example if new features or new commercial partners are added. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply from that date.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. Disputes go to the courts of Wyoming, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
